Dear guildies,
you should know that we are planning on leaving the Myst alliance.
A home to us for the last three years, unfortunately the activity has dropped drastically with time. Now all the guilds are barely active, people playing other games, no new players nor new guilds are being recruited. It was a hard decision, but we have to move on.
We had an alliance meeting yesterday and we spoke our minds freely. Sam, Kobus, and other guilds' representatives all understand and support us.
We don't know where we're going yet, but all the officers are working on it and will choose carefully. It will be a joint decision and we will listen to anyone who has something to say about it.
Things will not change within our guild, we have a nice, friendly community and are self-sufficient. But maybe we will find a new alliance with friendly people who are still playing the game and are willing to accept us as new friends.
We will keep you posted as to what goes on with our search.
Katja.

Awww sad to see you lot go. But I see your point, Guild Wars seems to be losing players to other games steadily. Not that I'm overly active myself these days I suppose I'd still play (more) Guild Wars if more good folks (MYST alliance) were still playing. All the best to you folks in the future

Thank you for your kind words, Eki Anyway, I already spoke to an officer of a prospective alliance. I found the alliance through one of the guilds searching for members on guru. The officer was very nice, we had a long conversation, but he was honest enough to admit they were having the same problems as Myst. What I like is that he and a few others in his alliance are still in love with the game and want to revive the alliance. I told him that we're not ready to be alliance saviors at this time and he understood. He's on my friends' list though and we promised to stay in touch. What do you guys think? The alliance is called "Architects of Forgotten Truths" [AoFT]. Katja.

Hmmm... Stupid me. Guess I lost track of what I was reading, I went through many posts... I was sure they were Luxon. And the subject never actually came up during our conversation. Anyway, it' s always nice meeting new friends, hehe. Who would have thought, there are a few friendly Kurzicks out there ;D Don't worry, I wouldn't think of changing our allegiance. Besides, I turned them down already, just wanted to hear what you guys thought about it

OK. We found a new alliance, this time it is Luxon . They seem nice, much like us ;D I talked to the leader and a few people from his alliance did a mission with us and after the mission (we did it in 2 groups because there were 5 of them and 6 of us - unfortunately Frank had connection problems so his group had to go without him) we chose a quiet outpost and talked a bit and got to know each other. The alliance is called Requiem In Paradise [RIP] and here's the link to some info about them: www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10414185We still need Mike's and anybody else's opinion before deciding to make this alliance a new home.

I agree with Katja, they seem like a nice bunch. They have a similar approach to the game (not elitist, we're here to have fun, help less experienced player, don't require faction farming, etc). The leader seems determined to keep the alliance active, and there should be a decent number of players every day, since there are 9 guilds in the alliance. One of the guild is based in the US, that's also nice for our American members . I also see this as a positive side for us. Some of the players have been playing for more than 3 years, and still love to play GW, but they also have newcomers. This feels good, but no final decision has been made yet. Do any of you know of this alliance, RIP? it's just over a year old, as an alliance, but the guild has been around longer. This is their page on Wiki wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild:Requiem_In_Paradise

Like what I read about them through the links and of course the part about the US guild. Just out of curiosity: why is Luxon vs Kurzicks important?

Well, it's important if you're going after titles. Have you ever noticed players in GToB advertising: "Lf Luxon guild". If you invite them, they use your guild to dump Luxon faction, which is something you can't do in a Kurzick guild. And, as Kurzick or Luxon title are both very hard to get, you usually go after one at a time. So if anybody in our guild is even remotely thinking about that, or will in the future, we better stay Luxon.

Maybe a bit late to advertise it on our own forum, but we're moving out of the MYST alliance tonight. And will join the RIP (Requiem in Paradise) alliance mentioned above. We got 4 accounts invited in RIP in order to test their activity and see if we would fit in.
This is the result of several intense discussions weighing the pros and cons, the last few days have been pretty tough for all those involved, it was not an easy decision to make. We believe this is the right decision for our guild's future though.
We're gathering in our guildhall at 8pm GMT (9pm CET) to say our goodbyes to our friends and allies. They have been a good home for many years and have been good to us. This is to say thank you for all you've done in thoses years. The exact time of the move is unclear, it will depend on how many people turn up.
So for some you, we might already be in our new alliance when you read this.
Aline (on behalf of all the officers and leader)

Well I will admit it was a little odd to click the alliance tab and not see MYST and to see names I'm not accustom to. I suppose that in due time it will feel like home just as MYST did. It was nice to see chat in the gold font again though. I haven't seen that on a weekday night in awhile. Not that it was ever real busy due to the lateness of the hour in Europe when I was on but there was usually 2 or 3 fooling around instead of sleeping.

Yes James, I agree that it feels a bit odd, but some old friends from the Myst alliance might be joining us in the future, we're working on it. And activity in the chat in the gold font, or 'orange chat' as I have also seen it called, is nice. At least one of the guilds is based in the US, and possibly 2 more, so you should be able to see more activity there. It is also good for you guys from the other side of the water, if you need help with something, you can now ask in AC and have a chance to get help. They also seem to organise more trips to UW, the Deep, FoW... And this is a question to all members actually. I am curious to know what your first impression of this new alliance is. Aline

My impressions are still the same as in the beginning. They are lively, chatty, doing things together, etc. I think we made a good choice. Also, [AVE] from the Myst alliance already followed us. I'm happy to have them here, but it's still sad to see the old alliance break apart Some more former allies will probably follow us soon, which will change things, but only for the better

I knew it! I saw the AVE tag but no names I recognized so made myself think that it was just another guild with that tag. When I was playing Thursday there was a couple of them teaching someone to farm the UW, which I thought was a real nice thing for them to do. Anyways the new home is a nice change.

Our good friends from [ZOO] joined us at 7pm GMT yesterday. Same as with the new alliance, the merger has been thoroughly discussed over a period of time. I'm sad because [ZOO] disbanded but that means a new beginning for us all. The [ZOO] leader - Safira Icewind and officer Deidre of Utrecht already joined us and others will follow within the next week or two. We are expecting approxomately 15 new members to join us. Guys, make them feel at home like I know you can Katja.
