For those who are not too sure about this application, it allows a user to change the textures of images in the game. These changes can only be seen by the user... So he could change his Icy Dragon Sword to look like a carrot, but everyone else in the game he played with would continue to see a normal skin and appearance for an IDS. What the application will do is enhance the appearance of the 'mist' that still has to be uncovered by you, thus allowing you to complete the cartographer title for every campaign and the expansion. This does interact with your main GW datafile, and as such, may result in its corruption... That said, I have used this application with no ill effects. If anyone wants to know more then follow the link that Josh posted, or google Tex Mod, or ask me ingame. The use of this application has been accepted by ANet as it only effects the use, and has no ill effects or impact to others in the game. You still travel the whole map, it's just made easier with this tex mod enhancement. I was going to post a guide on download, installation, and using the application and patches, but didn't get the time. Nice work in bringing it to the Guilds attention Josh. I salute you with a Karma

Hans was on the other day and announce he had completed the cartography titles. He mentioned using text mod for this and that lead to me asking many questions, which he patiently answered. However since I am the short bus kind of special I was still lost and so it was google, GW wiki, and youtube to the rescue so poor Hans could play GW instead of being my personal oracle of all things text mod. So I hope the following links will help others as they have helped me. wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_modifying_in-game_graphics That link explains what a text mod is and much more importantly to me, provides a link to a program that is flagged as a trojan virus off of a trusted website. No offense to gameamp or lordjosh intended, it's just that I am a very risk adverse person so it was hard enough downloading it after reassurances from Hans and others. I just felt better about getting it from I an "official" source I know and trust. wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_modifying_in-game_graphics/Player_made_modifications/UI_enhancements That page has the links for the files you will want for cartographer purposes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=94UKgd4nHvo&NR=1I saved the best for last. A detailed video of the steps involved with setting up and using the text mod program, trojan virus issue discussed, and an in game demo that shows you how the program works. Thanks so much to Hans for his sharing of his information and putting me on to this great aid for anyone interested in the cartography titles. And props to lordjosh for his pioneering post about this also.

Be aware that there may be problems running this in Windows Vista. My nephew tried and failed to set this up. If anyone has set it up in Vista then please confirm it here for everyone. Happy wallscraping everyone

Thank you all for the info on TexMod. I used it successfully and got Legendary Cartographer as a result It presented no particular problems except occasional visual corruption. I don`t know how to describe that using the correct terminology, especially since I don`t know what really happens , so I`m posting an image here. Anyway, it wasn`t a big problem, I just had to zone out and back in and that helped.

First, grats on the new title Katja! Still have to map Elona myself, and I have a lot left. I also had some minor graphic problems while using texmod, although they didn't manifest themselves in the same way. It was generally either a red sky in prophecies (but only at a particular view angle), or a different shade for the polygon under my character's feet. I could however get rid of them by switching to window mode (or minimising the window) then back to full screen. No need to rezone. Your graphic glitch is cool though, much nicer than mine
