It is clear that only a few members actually use this forum now, and as a result it is pretty much dead.
About 3 or 4 months ago I ran a straw poll with some people who were online, and asked if I should close this forum. The answer was a positive No, and that people would start using it again... However, it is just used for AWOL and the odd post elsewhere.
So... I will run a poll and see what response we get. I will not advertise it in any way, this way i can gauge the level of use the forum gets...
Happy voting.
Cheers
Mike

TBH I only check this about once a week now - Seems a little pointless keeping this open as it's just more hassle for you Mike. If there are "Guild" matters to discuss then we can just use the TLS bit on the MYST forum. Having said that there is some useful stuff on here that I'd like to take a copy of before the forum gets deleted (Unless you just intend not to maintain!!) so please give us a date Ben

I agree with Ben, there are some stuff on the forum worth keeping a copy of. And just like him, I don't log on very often myself. It is your call Mike. I was going to ask a question on the forum today, but ... Loreena

The thread has been read more than 15 times but only 2 votes. Is it just me, Ben and Mike reading and re-reading it? Then the forum is definitely dead. I think I am going to copy (very soon) thoses pages I'd like to keep. But if you post a date for closure Mike, that'd be nice. I'll try to ask you next time I play. Bit sad, tbh. Is it because Myst's forum is more active, and sucks all life out of this one? Loreena

The problem is much larger than a dead forum. As terrible as it sounds, I think that the guild is slowly dying. We should focus on keeping the guild alive. There is less and less activity, no new members that would stay for more than a few days, old members (including officers) not playing for weeks at a time... I know every1 is busy, I really understand that, I don`t play as much as I used to as well, but we could at least talk to each other perhaps, do stuff together. I know the lack of activity has been discussed before, I just don`t want you to stop trying. I`m not giving up on this forum or our guild just yet, so you should not either. So no, I don`t think we should close the forum. I promise I`ll use it more from now on and so will my boyfriend.

All the above are good points and thanks for your inputs. Regarding future access to the forum, I will not shut it down. I would just lock all the threads and cancel all Admin rights to all other members who currently have those rights. Regarding the Guild. It was a conscious decision not to recruit new members. We decided to allow the Guild to dwindle down to just the active members and see where we were then. We reached that point a while ago and have had a steady membership of around 26 or 27 members since. This consolidation process has meant that the overall activity level in the Guild has gone down. I am less active within the Guild, and my work schedule is not always fixed enough for me to arrange activities for the Guild. I rely on the MYST activities to cover that corner. I will also admit here that I am not enjoying the game as much as I used to. I spend more time now farming than progressing... I have been at this point many times before, but will always bounce back again. However, I think that if we want the Guild to continue, and develop, then we need someone new to lead it. Someone who is keen, and has the time, drive and motivation to rebuild [TLS] back to its former glory... Any volunteers?

Mike - I'd love to take this on, but I really don't have the time to commit to leading and driving it forward.
On a personal level I'd like to say thanks for your leadership for the 7/8 months I've been in the Guild - I've appreciated the support!
I hope you regain your enthusiasm for GW in the near future and wish you the best for whatever you decide to do.
Ben

I understand buddy. Both You and Hans are unable to commit at this time. The Guild will be allowed to run down. People can stay for as long as they want. I will keep a mule account as leader and see how things go from there. I cannot predict if we will get to remain in the Alliance, but as [IF] has 3 members, then those who stay should be OK as long as you remain active. I know Hans will stay until the lights are switched off . Ben, thanks for those kind words. As you know, we were here a while ago and you and Hans did a number on me then... You postponed the inevitable for a few months at least, so thanks for that. I wish everyone well, and good luck in whatever you do, both in and out of the game.

Sorry to hear about the fate of the guild, but I understand and respect the decision. I've been playing GW for just over a year now, this is my first guild, I joined in June. Many people have helped me, especially at the beginning, and I want to thank them. I also tried to help others in return, but since i am so inexperienced in the game, I think I received more than I gave out.
I have also noticed that the guild was less and less active in the last few months, but it was also in part my fault. I play irregularly, but there has been occasions when I was the only one online. That felt weird, to be honest. Since I am an occasional player, I didn't expect to be alone. I cannot commit so much to help revive the guild. There are too many things happening both on the job and home front just now. I don't want to leave the guild that helped me so much, not just yet at least. A bit sad I didn't have the opportunity to give back so much to the guild and alliance, I was just starting to get Luxon points, having recently started playing Factions.
Thank you for your leadership Mike, and all the officers and people who helped me. I have some good memories from the guild, some funny moments and interesting discussions. Good luck to you too, Mike, in whatever you decide to do.

I saw the new Guild announcement and I`m very happy about it. It`s great that Pedro is becoming our new leader. You have my full support and I promise to help keeping the guild alive. Now maybe we have a fighting chance. So good luck to us all.
Katya.
