I'm attempting the title at the moment with a paragon but thought I'd give a few pointers to start with from what I've already learnt... - Don't get c o c k y
- Keep an eye on how many party members/heroes you are allowed and how many you actually have before you leave town. Especially important if you have only just logged in or have used map travel.
- Learn to pull
- Learn your party controls (don't know if this is nightfall only) but if you set them at a set place don't forget to release them rather than run into a mob on your own.
- Upgrade heroes skills/stats/equipment as well as your own
- Know the missions you are doing and adapt accordingly - Skills which cause bleeding are no good against skeletons.
- Clear an area of miscellaneous monsters before a boss + guards. (Nothing worse than having a wandering low level mob joining in the party.)
- When you start attacking you may find it beneficial to use a chant/shout spell just outside of aggro range. That way one of the other "fighters" will get hexed rather than you. (Edit: Can also use CTRL+Shift+Space)
- Try to kill healers first. Helps if your fights are over quickly.
- Be wary of Damage over Time hexes etc on you. If necessary pull back or even simply run away
- You may find it easier to do all side quests before main missions

Nice tips Dude. I can look down your list and can say that I have thingyed up with most of them in the game The worst being to forget to release the party from their flags... Running into a group of high levels with my Sin who was a level 1 Survivor, ensured he will never reach level 2 Good luck with your char in gaining this title... It's all uphill but worth it. I always say 'Hi' and give respect to any char displaying the level 3 title. If you see one, whisper them and say 'Hi'. They are normally willing spend some time with you and give advice. I know I'm not on so much now, but If I am online, then shout me if you need help.

the guides and hints posted by Wizzy and Tasha r very good. i also worked on survivor chars and have made similar experiences. worst mistake i ever made was to forget releasing the heros/henchies i set somewhere on the map. (if u ever wanna know what a heart attack could feel like, do this) some ppl told me to log out when it gets too dangerous, i did it once with my first survivor, and got killed anyway. someone from the gw support team told me this could happen because the chars can sometimes remain in game for a few moments after the player logged out. i never logged out in a fight again after this. i managed to get 2 survivor title (once lvl 1 and one lvl2). and like the others said i played carefull, did only stuff i already knew well, used exp scrolls etc. i also did all the quests around kaineng, which is good for exp but can b a bit tricky sometimes, due to some nasty groups of enemies. by playing careful i mean being prepared for every figth, u dont have to retreat and heal after every kill, but u should know what u attack and how u attack it. and b prepared for patrols that might return and attack the group. and "clean the map", dont sneak around groups, kill them. u never know when u have to retreat, and u probably dont wanna run in another group when u have to retreat. and call every single target for both hench/hero and player groups. and dont play with ppl who only have 5 mins left b4 they have to log out.

Some places to easily farm xp: Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza! (EotN) This dungeon uses the dwarven brawling system, so being knocked out doesn't count as a death for the survivor title, failing to get up in time however does. Snow Worms outside boreal station (EotN). about 10 snow worms spawn just outside boreal station. Snow worms are very easy to kill due to the fact that they dont attack back. Jade Brotherhood Knights (Factions) When you zone from the marketplace to wajjun bazaar, there are 6 jade brotherhood knights nearby. Killing them is very easy with a farming build for farming melee foes (55, 600/smite, terra tank, MS/DB assassin) Spectral Vaettir in Jaga Moraine (EotN) When you zone to Jaga Moraine from Bjora Marches there are about 15(60 in HM) spectral vaettir nearby. These can be killed in under 4 minutes. For builds to do this go here

There are many ways to start your survivor so 1 won't go into it too much for the lower levels but starting in factions - nightfall getting off your starter area is the first thing and for prophs its just a case of getting to Ascalon post-searing and getting a run to Lions Arch. For all campains once you are level 10 or more - you will need to head to Lions Arch and get the quest from * Len Caldoron, What Lies Beneath. In factions you need to get to Kaineng city and chat to * Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon: I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet and in nightfall to * Bendah: Hole of Istan in Kamadan. Now what you have to do is buy as many Hammer's of Kathandrax that you need and you get 7,500 exp for each 1 you have. They cost you 2k each but for each 1 you have you get 1.5k back so 100 will cost you 200k but once you get to the quest you will get 150k back. The best place to get the hammers is in Vlox's Falls ae dis1 - lots of ppl selling them. Once you have all you need you will need to get to Catacombs of Kathandrax - a very easy run for most runners. Once you are there take the quest Kathandrax's Crusher from Swithin Nye and enter the dungeon and go straight back out to Sacnoth Valley and get reward from Swithin Nye then repeat it again. It only takes 10-15 seconds, having a hero whith Charge or "Fall Back!" helps speed it up and, for example, from level 20 r1 Survivor you will need 160 hammers to max title. It sounds like a lot but you use 1 ever 10-15 sec and in no time you will have max Legendary Survivor. If anyone needs to ask any questions or wants help whith the running I will be all too happy to help.

'Wriggly Moonchild' - I'm a Survivor! ;D I went Ranger primary and mostly Ritualist secondary. I started in Factions, did loads of the sub quests and tried to max XP before moving on. Some of the quests are very easy and safe but some are better at higher levels. I bought the half upgrade armour as soon as I arrived at Seitung Harbour as this is much more useful than the newb stuff. I applied as many runes as I could early on and remembered to transfer them. I used the 'fire imp' on all missions and a pet. I went long bow and was a 'barrage' ranger for most of the time. Some missions I plodded along solo and some I needed lots of help I gained around 850 000xp in a traditional way - missions, killing and 'capping' Elite skill captures give 5000xp a time and this appeared to be very efficient and certainly was not boring. I went to NF and LA solo which is not a good idea but I got away with it. I got the necro set of heroes, again solo including Shards of Orr, and had help on a couple of the NF missions leading to Master of Whispers. Once I had the necroes I equipped them as discordway team. All the above took place over a long time, sometimes with a week or more without playing the 'survivor' . I always had the 'guildhall' window open with a mouse poised over the 'return to GH key' and this was my emergency run away (which I used frequently) The rest of the xp was gained with the kilroy punch out thing ( wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kilroy_Stonekin%27s_Punch-Out_Extravaganza!) I spent a little time at 'the worms' north of Boreal Station and for me this was the most boring way of getting xp. I found I was too slow at killing them. The Hammers of Frank as above I used for the last few hundred xp and probably got around 300 - 400 000xp in this way. It is very safe as long as someone else runs you. The first time I ran there myself and it was quite tense at times. Ele foes are bad. Ele bosses are worse. Sometimes. Longbow ftw. Another tip try and not stand with your heroes and watch you back, I usually tried to stand off to one side rather than at the rear. It was fun, but would I try and get a second survivor? I don't know.

Congrats Moon! Great job, really. Especially the 850k XP you gained the hard way. You should be proud
