In regards to where "meh" came from. I don't know about the Yiddish history part but I got it from ol' Bart. Much to the dismay of my father I grew up with the Simpsons. He was fond stating "You know why his initials are BS? 'Cause he ain't nothin' but a big pile of ..." One time I muttered something about parents picking the given name and the naming customs of patriarchal societies that follow the patrilineality system determining the surname, but just once. The rest of the time my reply was meh as I headed out the door in my "Don't have a cow" shirt. ;D I was surprised to see the article noted that this word only used the word 2 times in a 6 year span. I thought it was much more frequent than that. So in the name of journalistic research I feel I should now rewatch ALL of the Simpsons seasons on DVD and count for myself. Thanks for the list. Could you add others that are GW, alliance, and guild specific? I would be grateful for the guild and alliance list especially. Though the only one I can think of off the top of my head is "squish" which means to go vanquish an area in HM.

I agree with you completely. Only a true noob is going to call someone new to the game that. I like newbies, we have a few in our guild and I really think there can be no stupid questions. We all started sometime. Like me for example. When I started playing GW everything was so new to me I can hardly imagine it now. It took me 6 months to discover Guildwiki and I admired ppl who seemed to know everything about the missions (especially the bonuses in Prophecies). We all see builds that are not the most appropriate. I don`t like people laughing at "noob" builds. If the build is really bad, you can always give the player some advice how to change it to improve the chances of survival for example. We all get frustrated sometimes by players who don`t know what they`re doing but it is our job as more experienced players to maybe teach them something about the game so soon they will be able to teach others. BTW, there are still things I don`t know about the game, some abbreviations I have no idea what they mean but I would like to believe that I can ask that without someone calling me a noob. And as for real noobs... I think enough has been said about them.

[glow=Black,2,100] bf [/glow] | [glow=Black,2,700] Boy Friend [/glow] |
Included this because more and more girls (and women) are playing GW (and other games) nowadays and it`s only fair to add this abbreviation For example: brb, my bf wants me to spend some time with him

Added IDD because Mike found out what it meant after 4 years of playing GW, today. So it deserves to be here ;D

I haven't played GW for 4 years (but almost 3 though), and I only recently found out what idd meant .... and that's because I quietly asked a trusted friend what it meant. and I am not talking about the other ones I still don't know the meaning for sure So Mike, you're not the only one

just realised I have been calling my self 'noob' happily in guild and open chat. Hopefully I am in fact 'newb' another term that confused me - eotn
Whilst trying to work out various complicated phrases I asked and was disappointed by eye of the north.....

While looking for the meaning of QQ, I came across this website www.internetslang.com/When I have time I'll look for some useful ones to add to the list above. But in the meantime, if you're baffled by some ZOMG, O.O, O:-) , D/C or DAMHIKT, check the Internet Slang They seem to have a pretty long list there! Learned that DAVID means good guy and DAWG means close friend. Not sure I'll remember that though Liked the fact that they had ZUT ;D or ZAIN , a proof that it's not just English... and in chats, 9 can mean 'parent watching' and 99 'parent stopped watching' This is for you, parents of teenagers who spend hours on chats. Check it out, you'll become more *internet aware* ZUT means d**n it (in French) and ZAIN beautiful (in arabic)

purely as a point of information and probably of no interest to anyone - when using the morse code yl is an abreviation for young lady i.e. girl friend and xyl is used when refering to one's wife.
