Just wondering if any were easier than others to progress with?
Or if any were particularly useful?

Hi
Hum, easiest I guess is cooking if you use a guide ( just google it). And it pretty usefull too, even past lvl 80. Jeweler doesnt need fine crafting mats either for the most part? No idea how that works out in cost though if you intend to buy all the jewels/stones/metals..
For the rest.. it all takes time or cash to get the mats, especially atm since fine crafting mats are expensive. Armorer can be nice. You can buy the rare recipes from the merchant (they are lvl35 onwards). Making a few of those should get you the next lvl of rare recipes. And selling those should pay for the rare mats you needed to make them, I hope it still works that way anyway. Do check which sell best first though in relation to the costs of the mats..
Artificer, weaponsmith etc can be usefull too since they have recipes that allow the manufacture of nourishments that you can use in addition to chef food stuffs:)
Jut as a general advice: do gather all/most nodes you come across and kill animals for fine mats, also alot of the 'intelligent' mobs drop bags that yield certain types of fine mats too.

My favourite is (http://www.gw2wiz.com/)
Couple of mistakes here and there in it, but can get you to level 400 within 60 minutes easy. Cost varies depending on the mats you have in storage, but typically less than 1g when I've done it. If you have nothing in storage, may be closer to 2-5g, though varies a lot per craft.

Ben Thank you. It is a little jumbled but looks excellent. Is there any advantage to having all crafts on one character? Just as a note - I have only just got to 1g, and I am level 28..... So, I won't be rushing out to buy loads of stuff. I am close to level 50 artificer and I think around 39 for jeweler. It is the discovery that seems to add most points. Were they suggesting it is better to craft in the WvWvW?

It doesnt matter where you craft really. But if you are in the field somewhere its easy to go to wvwvw and craft there, and when you are done, go to character selection screen and select your toon, you will find yourself back in the field And yes, discovery 'at lvl' will yield most points. And with 'at lvl' I mean at the lvl of your craft. So you are a lvl 50 articifer. you will get the most points discovering a lvl 50 recipe. Discovering that same recipe at higher lvls will yield less to no points. Guides do not always make the best use of this though. And in the case of a cook its not the best way ( considering time and gold) to get to lvl 400 by discovering. I would not advice you to spend coin for mats.. they are pretty expensive for the most part, and you prolly need your coin to get good gear later and not to mention training manuals the exception is if you can craft something and sell it ofcourse for at least cost.

Thank you, it is what I kind of figured. I had not realised the WvWvW thing was just convenience. I am just working the artificer and jeweler at the moment, I have done a little huntsman and cook as well but I am having more fun on my necro than I did with the ranger atm.
