Y'all haven't seen this before? I would find a "no, we haven't." hard to believe. The 1st time I found it, I carried it all over the place just waiting for a big horde of enemies to appear so I could drop it on them. That moment finally came and .... I was a little dismayed at the lack of effect to say the least. I didn't know about F10 at the time so I picked it back up and went looking for someone to give me a quest that involved this ancient weapon. Another fruitless endeavor to say the least. I wonder why they don't take stuff like this out of the game. And gratz on the squish!

After years of wondering why it is there, now there is some clarification on wiki: Linsey Murdock, an ArenaNet staff member, has clarified that its purpose was originally to knock over the large hero statue in Arid Sea so that it would fall on the large stonemass on which the Forgotten NPC you need to reach during the 15-attribute point quest is positioned. However, this never made it into the game, and as of now, the weapon has no purpose, though a wandering Ritualist might find it useful as an unlimited duration bundle. One puzzle less

I hadn't thought about a rit using it as a bundle, that's a good point. Though I must admit my experience playing as rit is very limited. I'm not sure if I made it out of basic training with it or not. I know I read some where (and saw pics) that the statue is visible from a distance in both profs and NF standing up. It falls over as you near it. I wonder if you observe the change? Next time I find myself wandering lost in the desert I'll check on that.
