On Friday, 5 December 2008, Aline, Anders, Hans, Hugo, Katja, Mike and Tim decided to own the Fissure of Woe. It was hard work, we lost Mike half way through due to connection problems (Mike, sorry you got booted out but at least you were able to go to sleep a few hours earlier) and had a couple of close calls. It took us 5 hours and about two short breaks and as we were all losing concentration we finally managed to finish the last of the 11 quests and were happy to call it a night at around 3.30 am CET. It was great, we should do it again soon and maybe more guildies could join.

Wow! 5 hours. Do you get some kind of bonus for doing everything all at once? Can you do part of the missions and then come back later to do the others? So what brought this on? Was it planned or just random? I would be highly interested in the next go at this. I have been with a PUG before in this but I believe we only did 1 mission and the group fell apart. (It may have been the Under World, it's been a little while since I went). Oh and 1 last question: HM or nm?

It was done on normal mode for starters. Most of us were there for the first time so it was an obvious choice. It was kinda planned. Kinda coz we did go in for 3 and some hours a few days earlier (all Mike`s fault ;D). Liked it so much that we made plans for the Friday night. Next time we will post it on the forum, especially coz a lot of u aren`t online when most of us are. But i know u can still join us on weekends especially if we`re playing long into the night . Well there`s no bonus for doing all at once except for the fact that u have to do all if u want run to be complete and display achievement in Hall of Monuments, and the all the cool stuff from a chest at the end . The other perk is that u can enjoy our company for whole 5 hours . Tim

Yes 5 hours of watching a monk lead the charge into battle would have to have it's enjoyable moments. ;D I'm a bit surprised to hear that it was the 1st go for most of y'all. I don't know why but I had just assumed that it was a "been there, done that" deal for y'all. I guess part of my reasoning is there is the forum topic on FOW armor. After reading it, I figured it was posted back when the guild was working on getting that. And pardon this change of subject but have y'all ever went after Rotscale? I have tried with H&H and PUGs but I never been with a group that succeed in killing it. Here's info if interested. wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/RotscaleMaybe we can do it as a vanquish squish. After the next FOW run of coarse.

Thanks Hans! But there is still HM if any one needs to get that squish. *Leaves to ponder why it seems that I have a personal vendetta against this dragon* PS-Ask Hans how he feels about his ISP upgrading his connection for him in the middle of the night. Here's a clue:

The only squishes I have are the ones I did with the guild the day the 2 small areas were done. I'm not at my PC now so I can't look to see which they were but I do remember we left from Lion's Arch and headed north back into the mountains. So I pretty much need all squishes (most HM missions&bonus too but that's a different post all together). Can't do it this weekend as I'll be out of town. Maybe the 20th? If so give me a time (a UK time please as I have a converter for it that seems to work) and I'll be there.
PS - I'll bring the green candy canes for all. I still have about 135 to use up.

Never mind about the 20th. Dad's coming home today and I will be staying with him Friday night and Saturday. I might be able to run GW on his PC but if he has an internet connection it would be dial up and I have no idea how that would run. Maybe we could try for the following weekend some time but right now it's hard to make any concrete plans.

A long thread which split in subject matter part the way through, lol. So... Who wants to do a regular HM FOW run to collect Obsidian Shards (for FOW Armour), and all the other goodies? Who wants to do a regular HM UW run to collect Ectos (also needed for FOW armour), and all the other goodies? I already know there are a core of us who do Squishes, but I agree with Katja and Tim that they should be better planned events... Anyone want to step up to the plate to be the Guild |event Organiser? Pay is lousy but lots of Karma comes your way Please let me know.

I would love to go on either one of those. As such could you schedule it to be on the weekends? Cause for the most part y'all are in bed before I'm able to log in during the week. And I'm up for any squish in Profs and EotN. Not sure if I can squish in other games yet.
I love to plan things (it's a disease I have that I don't pretend to understand) however at the moment I don't believe I would be the ideal choice due to the time difference and the iffy-ness of my weekends with my dad's situation. Doesn't seem right to plan stuff I won't be there for. I tend to follow the "lead by example" rule so if I cant show up for stuff how can i expect others to? (rhetorical)
Maybe later if things with my dad change.

That is understandable, and yes, the planned events will be held on weekends so we can maximize the number of Guild players There will be other spontaneous raids and HM stuff in the week too. These will be called in Guild Chat as an when... Any one can kick these off

One thing to remember for all our Members... You are all welcome to join any event. There is no expectations on performance... The prime reason for playing is to have fun, fun, and more fun!!! We all started the game as newbies, and it took time to get to fully understand the game mechanics and take the steps towards the more challenging aspects of the game. There are some Guilds who pride themselves on perfect execution of game play... we are not one of those Guilds. Please do come and join us if you can... There will be no pressure, we help when things go wrong, advice is given if asked for, and we go and have fun... could not be any more simple. We look forward to running with you very soon in a full [TLS] team

Maybe later if things with my dad change. I will not be around for a while as my father passed away last Friday (1/9) morning. Not what I had in mind when I wrote the above. Odd how a completely innocent statement at the time can seem to be so wrong to say because of future events. Anyways it could be awhile before my life gets back to "normal" so please don't kick me and save the last squish for me.

Very sorry to hear about your father James. We also thought that it was just a "mild" sickness, but lately things tend to turn serous way to quickly, especially if you stay in hospital for a prolonged period of time. Don`t worry about your status in guild, u must concentrate on your own healing now. And of course we will save a spot for u , not just for the fact that we still have a mountain of stuff to do, but because you will be missed. Again, pls accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. Tim and Katja
