So..., on the 19th of august me and Kat are going to Koln (Cologne) in Germany for..., well I guess u all guessed what ;D. This years Gamescom where we will be playing GW2 demo . We will have with us a couple of cameras to take pictures and films of the demo. So if u have any suggestions/requests of what to film u can let us know here and well try to fit it in. We'll be there the whole Saturday and Sunday trying to get as much info about GW2 and other games (though with Kat im sure GW will be all she'll think about , ).

Film whatever you like, I'm not gonna watch it since I will shield myself from GW 2 footage I want to jump into the game after release as pure and clueless as possible! (And to be fair, shifted my gaze toward Diablo III since that seems to be coming lots sooner than GW2 to murder my social life) EDIT Bad stef, almost forgot to wish you lots of fun on Gamescom!!!! You'll actually be only a few hours from my place there lol.

Tbh I don't think Diablo will be coming this year or the next for that matter, maybe in 2013. So GW2 will be out before it for sure. And from what I have seen of it ill not buy it till it will be like 15 euros, just not new enough and graphics are form 2006 so... . Let just say 1 disappointment form Blizzard last year was enough for me .

Actually D3 is about to hit beta and should be out fairly quick after that so Blizz is aiming for holiday season 2011 or early 2012 atm. You never know with them tho As for graphics, don't really care about those (especially in games like this) as long as the style works. D2 looked like garbage too when it was released, didn't bother me at all. Neither does the disney look of Torchlight for example. But of course Diablo is not everyone's cup of tea, to each his own

Yeah Blizzard is trying HARD to get D3 out this year (but tell us about blizzard and release-statements haha!) I'm with Stefan about the graphics of D3...D2 wasnt that stunning in graphics but man...the story was catching, thrilling, very blizzard like. D2 held me in its grasp for 4 years and that is a long time for playing single player (me )... And tbh, I think the graphics of D3 on the other hand are looking somewhere between good and great for its genre, very...atmospheric (/scary). Guess we always have to agree to disagree on Blizzard games, Tim ;D. Well, you going to Köln 19th wish you a good time there. I can't go because I am going to Austria 13th of August for a short summer vacation (near the Swiss border, not the Slovenian) I 'll be back on the 20th. Perhaps if you guys like we can meet somewhere 21st for some...cup of coffee in Amsterdam since we missed that last time Just kidding...but you are welcome if you have an unforeseen spare day.

Story in Diablo or any Blizzard game u got to be kidding me. There is no story there beyond hacking hords of demons. If u want a story in a game u have to play Bioware games. Play Baldur's gate once and u'll forget all about Diablo if ur playing it for story. It has like 3 times more gameplay and the companion stories are compelling + u get tones of background lore ingame and outside. Then Try Neverwinter nights and Dragon age 1 and KoToR 1, not 2 coz that one sucks and was made by Obsidian. Even Dungeon sidge has more of a story then Diablo. But Diablo is a great game for killing time, fun coz u get to kill huge mobes in a messy way ;D. I always liked it still enjoy to play it when i have nothing better to do. And graphic of it, when it came out there was no better looking game, just check it out if u don't believe me. The cinematics were the best ever fot that time and were in the top for a long time after. Actually they are still nice to look at even now. D3 how ever... nothing new, just D2 with a bit better looks but compared to similar games 5 years behind, not to mention compared to GW2 looks. On a separate note, we will go to Gamescom with an organized group so we will have to leave when our bus leaves which is on monday morning which means we can't visit NL again this year . We are considering visiting Amsterdam for the next year, but it depends on a lot of different factors that will be in play. But as u know we will surely let u guys know if we go in that direction .

Gotta agree with Zerk there, Diablo's charm is definitely not in the story but in the addictive gameplay.
And I <3 Baldur's Gate!!! Still have my original game here somewhere ^^ . Shame even BW doesn't make them like they used to. (Example being DA 2 recently)

If you get the chance to ask questions btw, there's one thing I would dearly like to know (assuming you are willing to ask and remember of course: P ).
Will GW 2 get any form of region locking (either through IP or product keys)? I cannot find anything on the subject and since my friend list includes a fair amount of both European and American players I'd be rather bummed if they were to split playing territories.

Have fun guys! I actually have a very specific request – could you check body type customization, especially Charr body type? I’m wondering whether I will be able to play a straight standing Charr, like this (and not like this).

Stefan: We'll try to get an answer from some1 about the "districts". We are also very interested in that as it will help or complicate organizing our guild in GW2. We don't have many US players but the ones we have we love so it would be a shame and a huge disappointment if we could not stay together in the future also. Art: I'm sure at least one of us will create a charr so it wont be a problem with that. For now I have'nt seen a strait standing charr yet and for me I prefer a hunched one better as its more cat like that way ;D, but I have seen many questions like that on the forums so maybe they have taken that in to account. We'll see I guess .

Late reply I have just returned from Austria so yeah, meeting would be a little problem anyway . Nice to know you are considering NL next year, I'd love to meet you guys once more (or even more than 'once' more ). Well, we'll hear it when you decided! As for Diablo...I know what you mean but have to stick to my statement; Diablo has had so far a lot of atmosphere which I consider a very important element of (any) storyline. It is of course more of a hack and slash game with very addictive character development and items-hunt but to illustrate how important atmosphere can be (at least to me): I found D1 and D2 grabbing me much much more than GW ever did even tho the storyline of even this game was better then in D2. Tbh I never liked the 'story' of GW (although Nightfall came close) and that was mainly because of the lack of atmosphere (once again, at least to me) but the game looked good and some of my friends were playing it, so there I went >.< D1 and D2 I played alone...in the dark...feeling really cold and deserted by the rest of the world. Playing the game for nothing else but the game itself. And the story? There ARE the five acts ofc (I loved to unlock the next 'story movie' as I progressed into the game). Diablo lover over and out

My feet are killing me otherwise we had a great weekend. Got to play only 2 times though as the queues for the demo were up to 5 hours long. Luckily we haven`t had to wait more then 3,5 hours . But it was worth it in the end. We took films of our character creations which well post as we get home (writing this from hostel in Köln). Also got some goodies but not as much as we hoped to get but we were really greedy in our wishes .

Other than having to wait to play GW 2 it didn`t effect us at all. We hung around the NcSoft booth most of the day, got around a bit, saw other things too, but it didn´t bother us too much. The queues for some of the games were a killer, though. And they stopped selling afternoon tickets due to too many people there already. All in all, it was a great experience, though very tiring. My legs still hurt from standing all day for two days. Still, it was awesome, the first and probably last such event for me and I will remember it always.
