Here you can post what you think about everything in GW 2. So lets start discussion. What do you think about videos from GW 2 fresh news thread? What you would like to see in GW 2? I would like to know more about battles underwater and only thing which I want to see in GW 2 is ..... our guild and guild hall ;D

I would like to see a more thrilling storyline that 's really catching! I have seen enough of the graphics to trust that part of the game. We are idd hoping to make a bridge into GW2 for the entire guild/all guildies Unfortunately GW2 is far from being released so we 'll have to keep building ;-) See you in game, Merijn

From what I've seen, there are things about GW2 I will like a lot and things I would rather not have. But all in all, even though it's going to be quite a different game (and GW is the only game I play), I am looking forward to it because my guildies are going to be there. I'm a social player and what matters most in my opinion, are the people who are playing. TLS rules ;D!

For me asura looks too sweet for now and I don't like it ;/ Better they should create them do more like charrs and about PVP etc. In one interview I heard about bigger battles with more than few players like raids in WoW or Castle Siege in Aion soo this could be nice to see in GW 2

The graphics look excellent on the demos that have been posted and linked from these boards Do you think we are going to have higher hardware demands? (or is that too boring to post here?) (do i need a new graphics card.......)

I think GW2 will be a lot more demanding on our comps. Thats why I'm going to wait for a while more before buying new comp so I'll get a the best possible gear for it for the same amount of money. However it does mean I can't play most of the new games on my comp , which means i have to use Kats laptop. We at least hope her laptop will be still good for GW2, though we never thought it will be still working flawlessly for almost 3 years now ;D.

Hmm, my guess is that if your computer can play the games that are currently released, that you should be good for GW2, since A-net said they wanted to make GW2 a game that can run on a average PC. Since you're specificaly talking about a graphics card, my guess is that you should be fine if your grahpics card has 512 MB memory, 256 MB might be too low. Then again, nothing has been released about the GW2 hardware requirements, so I could be completely mistaken.

Back up what Daniel said already. There is a discussion about what is a 'mid-range PC', specifically when it comes to GW2 lol. It can be found here: www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/speculation-system-requirements-for-guild-t1086.html (an older one), and here www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/system-requirement-computer-questions-t4698.html. Mind you, there's still no official statement afaik. And my guess is that graphics cards as mentioned in that discussion with 128MB will be too low. I think if your PC is not too old it will be able to play GW2 anyway. Now what is too old ? My PCs always last 6 to 7 years before it starts failing game system requirements, but I always make high-end PCs. Cost around €2000 (monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound device not included because I always carry them over to my new PC). Cut that price in half and the PC will probably also have its service years halved to 3-3,5 years before failing games. So in general, if your PC will be older than 7 years when GW2 is released you'll need a new one. Maybe you'll need a new one even if your PC is just 4 years old by then, based on how much money you invested in the Hardware of your PC when you bought it.

Maybe I just need to go get a new computer? I could get an uber laptop for gaming, then I could hide it from the kids.
I think Guild Wars runs pretty well on my 'old feak and weable' laptop so it would be nice if GW2 was no more demanding.
I do think it looks interesting and it would be a shame to turn all the graphics options right down.

hehheh an überlaptop lol. That will work. A designed-for-games-laptop. Laptops however were/are always bad at gaming or at least worse than desktops because of the heat-development in their tiny casing. But there are developments these days that look promising for gaming on a laptop. And if you can't hide it from the kids, you can always beat them up again

I'd agree on the "laptops typically don't do gaming" front based on my experience.
They can run games quite well, however you need to look after them, stripping them down and removing the fluff from the fans at least every 6 months, if not more often. I would also recommend getting a decent temperature monitor utility so that you can check the temp of the cores inside.
From the portability and convenience side of things then it's hard to see past them - Just don't expect to be able to upgrade, and expect to have to replace every 3 years or so (compared to 5-6 with a decent desktop that you can upgrade)
Or thats my 2 cents!!!
Ben
Amend: I'm looking to buy a top of the line desktop gaming rig ahead of GW2 hitting the shelves - Not started researching in detail yet but I'm planning on buying all the bits and building it myself - Then you know what you are getting, and how easy it will/won't be to upgrade.

I built my desktop, used 'micromart' for ideas.
I think I need to upgrade power and graphics card in the near future. The power supply unit I think I should have spent more on right at the beginning: ended up getting a cheapy unit and regretting it.
But my basic tightness stopped me from getting a 'top' anything and probably all I didn't compromise was the motherboard, which is OK.
This is a bit off topic. Bring on GW2!
Maybe we should have guild wide 'get more HoM' events. But it is probably only me that is rubbish

Get more HoM sounds ok . Oh I'm curious what kind of requests that would bring up. Why not give it a few tries on the tuesdays! It used to be dungeons/missions only but why not try it, see how it goes. The main idea has always been helping others anyway. P.s. yes it is a bit off topic but who cares
